Remarks made by the Chair at the end of the triennium.
After years of experience as a participant and chair of the Protocol and Nominations Committee I would like to give my views of what the role and responsibility of the committee is in terms of protocol.
When one observes the role of this committee, as laid out in the constitution, it is clear this committee has an important role to play.
In addition, past history has shown that the committee has a role to play in ensuring that the actions and directions of ISPO are in full conformity with the Constitution.
This means that paragraph “ph 1.5.8.2” should be interpreted to mean that the Protocol and Nominations Committee has also the obligation to carry out its duties by regularly reviewing the current actions, positions, initiatives and documents to ensure the Executive Board and it’s related committee’s are acting in conformity with the Constitution.
In such instances, where the rules, spirit and essence of the Constitution may be contravened, the Protocol and Nominations Committee should inform and advise the Executive Board, so as to avoid such actions and activities from taking place.
