ISPO Short Courses and Seminars
ISPO has a number of Short Courses available for programs in developing and in developed countries. All of these courses have developed out of consensus conferences on the same topics. They are:
- Amputation Surgery
- The Orthotic Management of Cerebral Palsy
- Management of Polio
- Orthotic Management and Related Therapies after Stroke
Each of these courses is coordintaed by an appointed ISPO task officer who serves a term of two triennia. The course content is organized with the collaboration and needs of the country where it is to be presented. The curriculum will reflect the consensus statements arrived at in their respective Consensus Conferences. The faculty will consist primarily of international experts but may also include local representatives recognized in their region as authorities.
A task officer is appointed by the board of ISPO for the purpose of coordinating the organization and scheduling of these courses. The coordinator's responsibilites are as follows:

- Not consensus conferences
Responsibilities
- To solicit from all course coordinators, or others intending on implementing courses, a list of proposed dates of courses for the particular triennium.
- To coordinate dates of all courses to minimize conflicts in scheduling.
- To ensure the geographical venues are coordinated amongst the potential courses.
- To solicit and receive proposed budgets for courses from the Task Officers.
- Set the annual budget throughout the triennium with the Honorary Treasurer and the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
- To present slate of proposed courses to the Education Committee for the purposes of curriculum and faculty input.
- Make recommendations to the Executive Board on what courses should be implemented.
- Recommend which course Task Officers should come to ISPO Executive Board meetings.
- Look into the proposed course structure and lecturers and assure that the content reflects the outcome of the consensus conferences.
